Each letter of the alphabet has two distinct shapes, and you should learn both the uppercase and lowercase letters. The larger shape is uppercase, also know as a “capital letter.” Uppercase letters are used for the first word in a sentence and for specific, formal names, which will be demonstrated it our lessons. Here are the uppercase letters of the alphabet:

Lowercase letters are much more commonly used and make up the bulk of the letters on any page of type. They are also normally used with electronic resources such as website names and email addresses. Here are the lowercase letters of the alphabet:
