The final two sounds, numbers 43 and 44, are the “cowboy” vowels, also known as the diphthongs. A diphthong combines two sounds into one but requires a glide from the first vowel position to the second. Included in this last phonics lesson are all the usual parts: sounds, letter combinations, words, bonus words, sight words, and reading practice with all 44 sounds.
